We provide full service at the Loading Dock Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Just arrange for delivery with the company of your choice and we will assist you. Remember, if you require the delivery company to bring items to your floor via the freight elevator, you will require to pre-authorize them through our work authorization process explained in the Work Authorization Permit section of this site.
If possible, book one week in advance if you need the Loading Dock after normal hours and we will provide access. Never leave items or vehicles in the Loading Dock overnight. Remember: Do not park vehicles or leave vehicles running in the Loading Dock. There is a 30 minute maximum stay for all vehicles on the loading dock unless prior arrangements have been made. Load or unload and remove the vehicle or it will be towed. Please check in at the Mail Room in the loading dock if the Dockmaster is not present or with the front Security Desk if you arrive after normal dock business hours.
Chafing Dish Heaters
Due to potential hazards associated with open flames, H&R implemented special procedures for Catering Companies that use canned solid gel chafing fuel to keep catering dishes warm.
If you are planning a catered event involving chafing dishes –
Check with the Catering Company to see if they are going to use canned solid gel chafing fuel. If yes, please advise H&R at 403-662-8005. H&R will provide you with a checklist that outlines the following rules:
The tenant contact person is responsible to make pre-arrangements with a fire warden to monitor the chafing fuel for the duration of the event, to have a fire extinguisher ready in case a fire occurs, and to ensure the fuel is extinguished after the event. Please note the chafing fuel can not be relit until the fire warden is present.
Mail and Courier Service
TELUS contracts to Novitex directly for their mail services.
H&R contracts Novitex to provide mail and courier services for the other building tenants included in your operating costs. Couriers are not permitted in any elevators and should bring their items to the Mail Room in order that Novitex can deliver to your floor.
Novitex can provide one-stop-service for your outgoing courier deliveries. Contact Novitex at 403-206-1306 and they will pick up your courier package and arrange for delivery through their preferred rate vendors. There will be a direct fee attached for this service.
There is one service elevator in F1RST TOWER. We do not reserve this elevator during normal business hours. Service elevators run on a first come, first served basis from 7:15 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Monday - Friday. To allow fair access to all customers, service elevators are usually only available during normal business hours for moves which can be completed in one run.
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic and reduce damage in the passenger elevators, please use a service elevator for anything you cannot easily carry, such as a large parcel or a box. Please instruct your suppliers, couriers and your staff not to bring a cart or dolly onto a passenger elevator.
Larger moves must be completed after-hours. You can help ensure that your move proceeds smoothly by giving us as much notice as possible. We suggest that you call at least two weeks in advance for larger moves. A minimum of 24 hour notice is required.
To book a service elevator you should include the request on your Work Permit Application.
Freight elevator specifications are: Max Weight: 4000 lbs, Height: 8 feet 10 inches, Length: 7 feet, Width: 4 feet 6 inches. Door measurements: Height: 6 ft 11in, Width: 4 ft 5 in.
